Purpose

Created as a special fund composed of appropriations, fees or sources dedicated by the legislature, loan repayments, interest, gifts, grants, donations, money from revenue bonds and proceeds from the sale of political subdivision bonds held in the fund.

Used to implement water projects by making low-interest loans and grants to political subdivisions, and as a source of revenue or security for payment of principal and interest on bonds. May also be used to pay administration expenses.

Used to make transfers to the financial assistance account of the Water Development Fund II (0371) to use for purposes of Texas Constitution Art. III, sec 49-d-8, except for purposes of the state participation and economically distressed area accounts.
