Created in 1961 in TEX. CONST. art.III sec.49-d-3 and TEX. WATER CODE ANN. sec.17.072 to record proceeds derived from sale of Texas Water Development Bonds for the purpose of aiding and making funds available to various political subdivisions for projects and purposes authorized. Money invested as provided in §17.083. Gifts or grants from United States Government, local or regional governments, private or other sources for the purpose of assisting economically distressed areas may also be deposited in economically distressed account in the fund. Amended by H.B. 997, 73rd Leg., R.S. Inactivated at agency's request because no longer utilized, effective 6/1/12.
