Origin:

Purpose
To be funded by direct appropriation and by the board at its discretion from the Water Assistance Fund (0480). The fund may be used for any research into any matter relating to the conservation and development of the state's water resources. Also, to pay all or part of the cost of developing flood control plans for the political subdivisions. (Amended by H.B. 2, 69th Leg., R.S.) The funds may also be used to provide for the collection of in stream flow data and to conduct studies to determine flow conditions to support a sound ecological environment.
Money in the fund may also be used to compensate members of the Texas Environmental Flows Science Advisory Committee and bay and basin expert science teams; for contract with state and federal agencies and entities to provide assistance to the committee and teams; for contracts with political subdivisions designed as representatives of basin and bay area stakeholders committees.
