GR Account 0655 – Petroleum Storage Tank Remediation

To receive fees, interest and penalties for late payments of fee, and funds recovered for corrective action and enforcement actions concerning petroleum storage tanks. Used to pay necessary expenses associated with administration of the account and groundwater petroleum cleanup program.

Any amount up to $1 million may be used to pay expenses associated with corrective action for each occurrence taken in response to a release from a petroleum storage tank. May not be used to compensate third parties for bodily injury or property damage. May not be used to reimburse for corrective action performed after September 1, 2005 or for corrective action in a claim filed after 3-1-08 except as provided by § 26.3573(r-1). Fees deposited to the account are assessed based on account balance. For information on account balance see Water Code § 26.3574.

May be used for expenses associated with assuming compliance with applicable administration and technical requirements.

May be used for expenses associated with investigation, clean up or corrective action measures performed under section 26.351(c-1).
