Created in September 1, 1971 by S.B. 338, 62nd Leg., R.S. in TEX. OCC. CODE ANN. § 1101.154; TEX. GOV'T CODE ANN. ch. 403 to receive that portion of the filing fee for real estate broker license renewal applications and filing fee for real estate salesperson license renewal applications which are to be transferred to Texas A&M University. Effective September 1, 1995, license fees were no longer dedicated to this fund per § 403.094, Government Code. Effective September 1, 1997, license fees were rededicated to the fund per H.B. 2948, 75th Leg., R.S. Texas Real Estate Commission, Agency 329, became a self-directed, semi-independent agency. All funds held with the Texas Treasury Safekeeping Trust Company per S.B. 1000, 82nd Leg., R.S., effective 9-1-11.
