The fund is a local operating fund outside of the state treasury. The Historical Commission may contract with the Admiral Nimitz Foundation to administer the fund. Deposits to the fund include museum admissions revenue, donations and interest. May be used to administer, operate, preserve, repair, expand, or maintain the museum.
