Purpose

This fund is established with the treasury in the Uniform Statewide Accounting System (USAS) to facilitate processing and reporting of certain expenditure through USAS. Used to distribute amounts from the Texas State Buildings Preservation Endowment Fund held at the Texas Safekeeping Trust Company outside of the state treasury.

The Trust Company shall manage and invest the fund and determine amounts available for distribution. The board may request distributions annually from the fund for the purpose of maintaining, preserving, rehabilitating, and restoring buildings and grounds under the board’s jurisdiction.

The fund consists of transfers from the former Capital Renewal Trust Fund 0854, Governor's Mansion Renewal Trust Fund 0804, and State Cemetery Preservation Trust Fund 0902 and investment and interest earnings on those amounts. Effective 9/1/24.

Except for money transferred from Funds 0854, 0804, and 0802, one third of the distribution shall be allocated to Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum projects.

The board may not use annual distributions to pay salaries, benefits, administration, operating, or program costs of the board or the buildings and grounds.
