Description


A person may not act as a broker or a manager (as defined in Insurance Code sec. 4152.001) for an insurer engaged in the business of insurance or reinsurance unless the person is appropriately licensed in Texas. The department shall collect a nonrefundable license fee from each reinsurance intermediary who applies for an original or renewal license. The department shall set the fees in amounts reasonable and necessary to cover the costs of the licensing program.



Due Date


Application due before acting as reinsurance intermediary. Original license valid for 2 years and may be renewed for 2-year periods. Department may adopt staggered renewal system.
