Description


(1) The commission may charge fees to a person who owns, operates or maintains a public drinking water supply system. The commission may establish a schedule of fees to cover reasonable costs of administration.

(2) The commission also charges registration fees under Water Code Ch. 37 for persons who process control duties in production or distribution of public drinking water, repair or test backflow prevention assembles or inspect cross-connections or other contaminant hazards in public water systems.

The commission may impose administrative penalties (collected under revenue object 3770) and civil penalties (collected under revenue object 3717) for violations related to public drinking water supply systems. Penalties must be between $50 and $5,000 per violation.
