Description


Persons convicted of certain offenses under the Penal Code shall pay, in addition to all other costs, court costs for special services as follows:

  • A defendant convicted of a felony -- $185.
  • A defendant convicted of a class A or B misdemeanor -- $147.
  • Conviction of a nonjailable misdemeanor -- $62.

GR Account 5157 -- Statewide Electronic Filing System receives 0.5485% of total fees collected.



Due Date


Upon conviction at the same time as other fines and court costs.

Effective 01/01/2020, S.B. 346, 86th Leg., R.S. added percentage of court costs under Local Government Code sec. 133.102. S.B. 346 repealed $5 court cost previously deposited to account.
