Description

Anyone desiring to plant oysters and make a private oyster bed in the public waters of the state must make application and pay a fee of not less than $20. When oysters are sold or marketed from the location and thereafter, the holder will pay the State $6 per acre of location per year. A late penalty of 10% is also charged. A $200 fee is due on the sale or transfer of a lease unless the lease is inherited.

The commission may set fees for issuing a certificate of location for the restoration of natural oyster beds. Fees are for applications and renewal of leases.

Due Date

On or before March 1, beginning with the year in which oysters from such location were first sold or marketed not to exceed 5 years.
