The portal provides for a common electronic infrastructure through which documents and payments, applications and renewals of licenses and permits and other information may be electronically sent between state agencies and local governments and the public.
Through a contract with the Department of Information Resources, a private vendor charges fees for consulting services and transaction fees. Of the fees collected by the private company, a portion are remitted to the state.
