Purpose


The fund consists of specialty license plate revenue, gifts, grants, appropriations, and interest earnings.

Amounts from the fund may be appropriated only to the department for the creation and maintenance of the open burn pit registry for service members and veterans who were exposed to open burn pit smoke or other airborne hazards during their military service.

If the registry is adequately funded and contributions to the fund exceed the amount necessary for the registry to be adequately funded, the department may use the money for any other purpose consistent with legislative appropriation.
