Persons convicted of certain offenses under the Penal Code shall pay, in addition to all other costs, court costs for special services as follows:
GR Account -- DNA Testing receives 0.1394% of total fees collected.
Court costs of $50 if a delinquent child is committed to the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, $34 if the child is not committed (Family Code sec. 54.0462) are deposited to General Revenue.
Upon conviction at the same time as other court costs.
Deposited by Comptroller when received from custodian of municipality or county treasury, required to remit not later than last day of the month following each calendar quarter.
Municipality or county may retain 10% as a service fee.
Administered by Governor - Fiscal, Agency 300 and the Texas Department of Transportation, Agency 601.

S.B.727, 81st Leg., R.S. attempted to dedicate community supervision and delinquent child costs to the Department of Public Safety, Agency 405, however, the dedication was not exempted in H.B. 4583, 81st Leg., R.S., funds consolidation bill. Therefore these funds are deposited to unappropriated General Revenue.

Effective 01/01/2020, S.B. 346, 86th Leg., R.S. added percentage of court costs under Local Government Code sec. 133.102. S.B. 346 repealed the following court costs previously deposited to GR Account 0421 - Criminal Justice Planning and the State Highway Fund 0006:
S.B. 41, 87th Leg., R.S. repealed Government Code Ch. 102, and index of existing court costs and fees.
