Created in 1953 by the 53rd Leg., R.S. Requirement to police and the discretion to make arrangements with the Department of Public Safety added in 1971 by H.B. 955, 62nd Leg., R.S. under TEX. CIV. STAT. ANN. art. 6674v § 21. Recodified by S.B. 971, 74th R.S. under TEX. TRANSP. CODE ANN. 361.237. Texas Turnpike Authority reimburses Department of Public Safety for the proper policing of turnpikes and tollways in amount equal to actual funds expended for policing. Collected by Department of Public Safety, Agency 405. Deposited to Fund 0001 - General Revenue Fund (formerly a portion was deposited to GR Account - Federal Motor Vehicle Inspection (No. 0274) and Fund 0006 - State Highway Fund (formerly to GR Account -- Operators and Chauffeurs (No. 0099). Repealed June 18, 2003 by H.B. 3184, 78th Leg., R.S.
