Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, Agency 582, is the representative agency for Texas.
This revenue code was inactivated in 2008 for non-utilization. It was reactivated per the passage of S.B. 1504, 82nd Leg., R.S. In accordance with § 7.01 of the compact, party states joining the compact after 1/1/2011 must pay the host state $30 million. States joining after 9/1/18 and before 9/1/23 must pay $50 million. One half of the required payment is due on the date a state becomes a party state and the remaining half on opening of a compact facility.
Previously, states that became a member of the compact were required to pay the host state a total of $25 million: $12.5 million within 60 days of Congressional ratification and another $12.5 million within 60 days after the opening of a compact facility (Art. V, sec. 5.01 of the compact).
