Breakage from horse races is distributed as follows:

1. 2% used for equine research at Texas A&M.
2. The remaining 98% allocated as follows:
   • 10% from a live or simulcast pari-mutuel pool deposited to Fund 0327 for use by the appropriate state horse breed registry.
   • 10% from a live or simulcast pari-mutuel pool retained by the association for use in stakes races restricted to accredited Texas-bred horses.
   • 80% deposited to Fund 0327:
     • 40% to the owners of the accredited Texas-bred horses that finish first, second or third;
     • 40% to the breeders of the accredited Texas-bred horses that finish first, second or third; and
     • 20% to the owner of the stallion standing in this state at the time of conception whose Texas-bred finish first, second or third.

A greyhound track that shows closed circuit horse racing shall deduct from each pool a purse of 4.5% to be escrowed with the commission for purses to be allocated to eligible horse racetrack associations. (Deposited to Fund 0876).
